Food was amazing and fresh. We had the SGD30 per pax porridge buffet and ordered from a dedicated menu. Service was amazing and attentive. Highly recommended !!!

I was reluctant to go here because I thought it would be super expensive. Plus, some reviewers said this restaurant was over-priced. But it turned out to be surprisingly cheap! I ordered 3 signature dishes ( 1 chicken and 2 prawn), but ened paying only half of my budget. Will go back again for more dishes.

Good for family gathering. Price is little pricey thought. Traditional home cooked style food. Teochew favorites are the raw cockles, spinach, dou mei, lala, pomfret, niong hiang, mee sua, or nee

Went on a Sunday noon, restaurant is located at a separate building from the mall, main entrance accessible via the side facing the main road.
Although the place was not crowded, the staff were smiley, patient and pleasant. Always went about getting busy instead of chatting up with each other.
Good
– menu is attractive and with good variety of dishes. Food pics on the menu was nice and actual to the real dish.
– porridge is yummy
– dishes are also yummy, especially the braised pork belly (not too salty and cooked till soft), omelette with salted vege, Kang Kong with sambal (fresh, crisp and right amount of spice) and steamed meat loaf with salted fish.
– staff attentiveness and professional service attitude.
– good location. Nearby katong area with lots of old and famous shops to visit after the meal.
– serves sustainable sourced paper napkins.
– free top up of porridge from a claypot at each table.
– Temperature just right.
Not so good
– the sign at the unused side door should have directional left/right sign to tell first time customers where to go. Currently, it says “please use main entrance”.
– can have some promotion or credit card discounts.
Overall, I will recommend coming here. Your guests will be impressed and happy with the experience.
Very conducive for chats over meals.

The food quality is average, some coffee shop Teochew porridge also taste better. Warning….the portion is very little, you can literally count the number of pieces of fish and chicken on the dish with no more than your 10 fingers. The price is very expensive for this quality and portion. Their so called “signature” salted egg mushroom is soggy and pricey. The only bonus is free flow porridge.
Service was also not good. Raining heavily but made patrons go out in the rain to Katong Square just to get to the restroom when they have a connecting door in the restaurant that’s linked directly and sheltered from the rain. They refuse to open it for customers to pass during situations like this.
Pricey, Average quality, Miserable portions & Poor service. Am surprised how this restaurant can even get 4-5 star ratings my goodness. My first and last time!
