One of the best Peranakan cuisine I have tried so far. Good customer service and good value for money.

The restaurant is cozy with simple deco. Servers are attentive. Taste is lighter compared to other Ngonya restaurants I’ve been to. Chendol is their recommenced dessert but I personally think it is nothing too special about it. Decent food overall but not something I will crave for.

Whole place was very disorganised. Environment was extremely noisy and just full of people shouting. Food was sub par and mediocre. Overall, not worth it. Although, I would like to give credit to the waiters who were trying their best to handle the crowd.

Went to GHS for dinner recently with the wife. We tried this place quite a few years ago and haven’t been here of late, but decided to give it a renewed try.
I wouldn’t exactly rate it as a Peranakan Restaurant, because Peranakan food generally has a heavy taste. This place tones this down somewhat, so the food has a cleaner and leaner flavour. That’s not to say it isn’t good, because it is. The Bakwan Kepiting or crab meatballs have a different take to it. They make these by throwing together minced meat, shredded crab, and large rough-cut Chinese mushrooms, and cook these meatballs in a broth loaded with thinly sliced bamboo shoots and fried shallots. The taste is good albeit the rather tough morsels of mushroom inside.

The highlite of the meal is most definitely the Udang Masak Nanas Pedas; large prawns cooked in a spicy gravy seasoned with large cut pineapples (fresh ones too). Spicy, Tangy, but not to harsh on either taste. Overall it was a good meal and right about enough for the 2 of us:)

Honestly speaking the food is so so only.

You can have better Chendol at Hawker or even coffee shop. The Chendol serving is small.

The barley drink is small in size and the barley taste is not strong.

The sataty pork doesn’t taste anything like satay at all.

    The Ngoh Hiang is good

    The fried veggie is tasty.

The service is ok but didn’t like the waiter kept coming forward to ask for our order. At least give us some time to look through the menu first.
