Beautiful setting but poor service. 20 min after taking the order the waiter came back to tell us that our option was not available. Rest of the food took very long to come. Food did taste good though and they gave us an apology and the cheese platter for free because it took 40 minutes to come.

The experience from start to end was pretty good. Parking is easy to find and free from 1200h to 1400h. A green buggy will fetch you from the Taxi stand all the way to the entrance of the cafe. Service throughout was great; you will need to be patient. The food is decent enough for the relatively high price. Well portioned. I have had better steaks though. Do make a reservation even for a weekday lunch. Ambiance is good and cooling within the Flower Dome. Considering this place resides within my favorite GBTB, I will probably be back again sometime.

10 Aug 2019 – tea break for 2 persons.
We were here to see the Orchid Extravaganza at the flower dome (entrance fee required to enter the dome) and wanted some drinks before we headed out of the air-conditioned dome.
There was a queue at the entrance of the cafe that’s located within the flower dome and we only waited for a short while luckily to get seats at the counter as those were the only seats available then. There aren’t very many tables available within the cafe.
We ordered croquettes (mushroom, ham and mixed), a cappuccino and a pot of chamomile meadow tea. The cappuccino and croquettes were served but somehow they forgot about the tea which took a while longer to be served after we asked about it.
The drinks were nice but I found the croquettes to be a bit bland – not much flavour of the ingredients used for the croquette fillings.
Generally overpriced for most of the items – kind of expected for an eatery located within a tourist attraction.
Service was friendly. They even moved us to a table once there was one available.
Nice environment to dine at but it can still get a bit warm sitting under the glass roof in the hot sun.

Wouldn’t hurt to make a reservation before your visit! The hi tea was great value for money, given the amazing view you’ll get to enjoy during your meal + free entrance to the flower dome! Free buggy service to the venue from the entrance too!

Four stars for the atmosphere and venue, 3.5 for the food. Lamb shank was good but not spectacular. The onions were fab. Duck confit was average but the real winner was the pumpkin puree!! That was awesome! I’d go just for that haha. If you’re there don’t just head to the Flower Dome; take some time to appreciate Fennel’s own garden behind the seats!
